We are happy to announce that we successfully finished the project funded by Erasmus+ programme and titled Supporting Education for Climate Awareness and Civic Action. Through the project we aimed to:
- Upskill our trainers with knowledge and skills to strengthen and build cross-sectoral collaboration, to support a more cohesive and strategic approach to climate citizen education across Europe.
- Increase programme inclusion, reach and communication skills by increasing staff competence to design and deliver training that is better informed by equity, diversity, and inclusion practices.
- Upskill our trainers with knowledge and skills that increase the psychosocial resilience of citizens initiatives responding to climate change and social injustice.
- Upskill our trainers with knowledge and skills to dynamize and increase the impact of their education for pro-environmental action so as to support an equitable climate transition.
In order to achieve these objectives we sent 21 participants to a training provider in Spain Associació Col-lectiu Eco-Actiu to courses covering the following topic:
1. Organising for Engagement
2. Transformative Collaboration
3. Education of Community Leadership
4. Framing Climate Narratives
5. Regenerative Practices for Empowerment
6. Nature Connection & Ecopsychology Education
7. Strategy Training for Civil Society
8. Integral Educators Training
9. Leadership for Change
Facilitators of the courses used diverse methodologies: somatic work, Theatre of Oppressed, experimental and participatory pedagogy, case studies, connection with nature, and mindfulness. This holistic approach allowed us to experience each course topic from different perspectives and enriched our own methodological resources.
The project allowed us to strengthen our knowledge and skills in collaboration, resilience, climate narratives, and inclusion. Our team also feels more equipped to share newly acquired experiences and tools.
Additionally, we strengthened our ties with other organizations and initiatives from the CEE region and supported cross-sectoral expansion of European networks. These activities led to improvements in educational programs, increased inclusivity to learners, and improved the wellbeing of our staff and learners.
